Hope for Kidz is a student sponsorship program for children in southwest Haiti. It provides a student with a backpack, uniform, books, entry fee, tuition, hot lunch program, Christian education and a small amount for teacher salaries. This year RMI (Reciprocal Ministries International) is adding 2 medical components which will be huge in the health conditions of these children as well as their education.
Many in Haiti suffer from worms. This can happen when they don't have shoes and a sore on their foot gets infected, or any wound that gets infected on their body. This condition can occur, often, in the conditions where they are living. Because of that, the children have little energy and their cognitive abilities are dulled, thus making it hard to concentrate and be a strong learner. RMI is going to start a de-worming program which involves the children being on a cycle of de-worming medicine which can take effect within a very short period. It can change lives!
The Hope for Kidz program is so important in these children's lives as without the support from sponsors they will not be able to go to school, as there is no free education in Haiti. Hope for Kidz gives them, and their families, just that, HOPE.
