The Facility
Weddings can take place in the Celebration Center or the Chapel, located just outside the main doors to the Celebration Center. The Celebration Center seats up to 500 guests, while the Chapel seats 30-90. Dressing areas and restrooms for the wedding party are located in the lower level of the church.
Setting the date
Before reserving the facility we ask that you schedule time to speak with one of our pastors. The Pastor will discuss the following items with you:
- Availability to perform the service.
- Availability of the church (Deposit is required to reserve the facility)
- Confirm the availability of the wedding coordinator
- Premarital counseling – Generally there are one to three sessions with the pastor prior to
the wedding
If it is mutually decided to proceed with plans to wed at Our Savior's, please complete the attached Wedding Coordination Form. The wedding coordinator will provide confirmation of the arrangements when the form and deposit are received.
The Ceremony
Creating a ceremony that fits your personality can be very exciting. As you work with the pastor and wedding coordinator on the ceremony, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Order of Service: The pastor will assist with the elements of the service. The wedding coordinator will work primarily on the logistics of the service.
- Music: Use of an organist, pianist or musical ensemble is preferred, but CDs can also be used. The musicians are generally able to help you select the music that best meets your needs. Secular music is allowed only with the pastor's approval.
- Organist: Requests for guest organists will be reviewed by our resident organist.
- Flowers: Flowers should be delivered and picked up the day of the service. The
wedding coordinator can work with you on suggestions and placement.
- Decorations: Banners and other colorful decorations in the Celebration Center are dictated by the church calendar. They may not be removed or changed to coordinate with the wedding colors. However, if you prefer, the altar cloth may be changed to a white and gold cloth, rather than the color of the church season, in honor of the wedding.
- Candles: The church has two candelabras that are available for use. Aisle candles are also permitted, but need to be rented.
- Photography: Photos generally begin about two hours prior to the service, depending on the size of the wedding party and the photographer's advice. Everyone is asked to clear out of the wedding area 30 minutes prior to the service.
- Video: Videotaping is allowed. Details, including camera locations and timing, should be reviewed with the wedding coordinator.
The Marriage License
The bride and groom are responsible for obtaining the marriage license. The marriage license and certificate should be submitted to the wedding coordinator two weeks prior to the ceremony. After the ceremony, the wedding coordinator will send the paperwork to the appropriate county for recording.
